How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Therapy is for anyone looking to understand themselves better, navigate challenges, or improve their emotional well-being. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit, therapy can be a space for growth, self-reflection, and positive change. If you’re unsure, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to explore if we’d be a good fit.

How often do sessions take place?

Most clients start with weekly or biweekly sessions, but the frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and goals.

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes! I provide secure online therapy for clients who prefer the convenience of remote sessions. If you’re in an area where in-person sessions are available (Toronto), we can discuss that option as well.

How long are sessions?

Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes, but we can extend the length depending on your needs.

What type of therapy do you use?

I take an integrative approach, blending Western evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Gottman Method with Eastern mindfulness and somatic practices. Therapy is always tailored to your unique needs.

What makes your approach unique?

My background in neuroscience allows me to approach therapy from a deeper understanding of how the brain and nervous system shape emotions, relationships, and behaviors. I also integrate both scientific and holistic methods, offering a therapy experience that is adaptable, trauma-informed, and rooted in both modern psychology and timeless wisdom.

Do you incorporate mindfulness techniques?

Yes! Depending on your comfort level, I may incorporate breathwork, somatic awareness, or mindfulness techniques to help regulate emotions and reconnect with the body.

What are your fees?

Individual Therapy: $120 per session

Couples Therapy: $160 per session

Family Therapy: $160 per session

Sliding scale options may be available for those facing financial barriers.

Do you offer insurance coverage?

Yes, I provide receipts for reimbursement under psychotherapy coverage in extended health benefits. Check with your provider to confirm coverage for a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying).

Is therapy confidential?

Yes! Therapy is completely confidential, with a few exceptions required by law (such as concerns about immediate harm to yourself or others). We will discuss confidentiality in more detail during our first session.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules. Late cancellations may be subject to a fee.

I’m nervous about starting therapy. Is that normal?

Absolutely. Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, but that first step is often the hardest. My role is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore whatever feels important at your own pace.
